Telehealth has been practiced for over a decade but many providers and ancillary staff have not provided direct clinical care using telehealth. Digital health will continue to expand in health care and its important clinicians and administrators at all levels have a clear understanding of telehealth and the requirements for a successful service.
The Foundations of Telehealth gives a foundational understanding of telehealth across technology modalities, care settings and the different roles each clinician plays in care delivery. A special emphasis is provided for video visits as a basic level understanding of telehealth.
Telehealth is a tool to deliver clinical care, it is not a unique and distinct clinical service. The course covers use cases, how telehealth can be integrated into your in person services, the difference between treating a patient in person versus via video and the necessity of clinical workflow design to ensure you’re meeting standard of care when using telehealth.
